Susan Kwasny,
Owner/Personal Fitness Coach

After gaining 50 pounds during her pregnancy and giving birth to her first child, Susan decided it was “now or never.”  She got serious about her health and fitness.  In just a few months, she looked better, felt better and was healthier than ever.  Along her journey, she met many other mothers who struggled with weight-loss due to lack of sleep, lack of time, stress and guilt.  They all wanted to know her secret.

In 2005, Susan decided to dedicate her life to helping those people who struggle with weight-loss and fitness related issues.  She achieved her weight-loss goals and was determined to help others achieve theirs too, no matter the obstacle.

Susan’s philosophy is that the motivation to become fit and healthy is inside us all, but finding it and coupling it with intensity and determination is the key.
Samantha “Sam” Williams is an AFAA Certified Group Fitness Instructor with a special interest in boot camps.  Exercising is a passion that, more than likely, was bred into her - she considers her mom to be one of the fittest women she knows.  With an active and energetic personality, Sam found boot camp to be right up her alley.  What she loves most about boot camp is the challenge - both mental and physical, the intensity, and the variety.

Cooking is another one of Sam’s passions so she is always reading food magazines and researching new ideas on how to eat and prepare food in a more healthy way.  Sam lives in the Highlands of Louisville, KY.  She walks everywhere and is sometimes accompanied by her dog “Roscoe”.

Susan helps clients overcome the barriers by tackling each obstacle one-by-one.  She works with people daily on overcoming their biggest obstacles, namely time and guilt.

Because Susan has struggled with the same issues, she understands her clients.  She works to educate and motivate her clients so they can continue their nutrition and fitness routine without needlessly spending hundreds and hundreds of dollars a year.  She wants her clients to achieve their goals and to have the confidence and knowledge to move forward on their own.

"I have always tried to maintain some level of fitness. I am a former high school and college athlete who was able, mostly through ongoing participation, to continue in competitive condition in various activities through my 20’s and 30’s. However, about 15 years ago the setbacks of an illness, the demands of parenting and professional activities, and just the effects of aging and legacy injuries began to take a toll. I continued to engage in lower intensity activities on a somewhat regular basis, but my fitness level was significantly declining. I have now been in Susan’s bootcamps for over a year. They are challenging -- very challenging. In many ways they remind me of old sports practices – pushups, squat thrusts (now called “burpees”), and total exhaustion. However, I am now doing things I could not make myself do on my own, and a few short years ago would not have dreamed I could do any more, simply because Susan insists that I can. I can’t say I always look forward to going to bootcamp – but I can say I am always glad I went. I have returned to what I weighed in my 20’s (dropping over 15 lbs) and my fitness level continues to improve. This year we will celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary and I expect to weigh what I did on our wedding day. Also, as one of the senior members of Susan’s bootcamps, I very much appreciate Susan’s motivational and supportive demeanor." Ken - 53

"Susan's boot camp classes are both physically challenging and fun at the same time.  She brings her high energy, positive attitude to each class which makes for a fun social atmosphere.  I love that Susan is always looking for ways to change up the workouts and introduce new routines which keeps the boot camp classes from getting stale.  Thanks to her classes, I have been able to lose 25 lbs. and achieve my goal of getting below 200 lbs.  At 45 years old I am in the best shape of my life and I have Susan to thank for that." - Keven, 45

“I just graduated college and longed to lose weight and get into shape, but I lacked the motivation needed to actually make the changes.  I will never forget the first fifteen minutes of my very first boot camp.  The class was an immediate "high."  Susan's motivation and encouragement was just what I needed to get mentally on the right track.

I remember going to buy new jeans a month after taking boot camp twice a week, and I couldn't believe I was already down two sizes.  The changes in the work-out combined with the high energy, high intensity, and high level of motivation makes Susan's boot camp addicting-- in the best way imaginable.  Susan knows exactly what to say when you think you can't make it anymore, exactly how to make you push yourself to the best of your potential, but most of all, she knows how to make you believe that you can do it and that you can change your life.  The variations in the work-outs made me always want to come back for more and kept me from never getting bored with the class.  Over the course of a couple months, I lost over 30 pounds, noticed more tone in my body, and gained an immense amount of strength that I never imagined possible. Susan's boot camp turned working out into the highlight of my day as opposed to a chore and I can honestly say, despite how cliché it may sound, that it changed my life.”

"I had been taking Susan's spin classes on a regular basis when I wandered into her boot camp one day 6 months ago. An incredible work out and supplement to spinning, the classes are challenging, exciting and fun. I enjoy the intense competitive nature of the group class. Susan is a great instructor being very knowledgeable about the exercises and routines. She is a great motivator as well. I especially like the way she always has something new each week and varies the routines so class is never mundane. Overall, I highly recommend boot camp and especially Susan". - Dr. Alan Mauser, 53

"After two babies and several trend diets that didn't work, I was desperate and determined to lose weight.  So, I trained to run a 10-mile race and only lost 5 pounds in 4 months.  I am food passionate and really needed a realistic way of sticking to healthy eating.  I am not the type of person that can always resist the food I love.  Susan came up with a plan that allowed me to reward myself with meals and days off from my diet.  Even during the days I was watching my diet I was able to eat whatever I wanted as long as I stayed within a certain calorie amount.  It was the easiest "diet" I had ever tried and it worked.  I also started a work-out routine of 4 days a week.  Of course my workouts with Susan were the most challenging but also delivered the best scale results.  I ended up losing 20 pounds and reaching my goal,  which I don't think I could have done without Susan's help.  I have not abandoned my new lifestyle.  I continue to strive to meet new goals and work out 4 days a week while maintaining my healthy eating habits.  I am the healthiest I have ever been in my life.  Susan helped make my entire family more healthy, my kids even talk about working out and eating healthy!  - Lisa, 35
